Twister

Midwest
Summertime is hot and fine until the clouds gather in my mind
At first they don't look the worst but soon I know it's a curse
My past back to haunt me

I hear the bulletin
Funnel cloud is dropping in
And I know this could be the worst time

I come down the stairs
Falling fast
Right then I heard a blast of air rip the screen door

So many nights I walked home and cried as the dark clouds became thicker
So many times I looked at you and lied when I said I didn't care that you kissed her

Sirens and lightening make this world a little frightening
I know I could use a heart crush

I come down the stairs
Falling fast
Right then I heard a blast of air rip the screen door

There's a twister
Gonna bust this place up again
(where should I run)
There's a twister coming in tonight
(where should I run)
You better run for the low country
You better run
